Harper should fix his own national problems instead of telling Cuba what to do

16 Apr

In the last few days, The Organization of American States, which includes every country in the hemisphere except Cuba had a serious discussion about letting Cuba participate. Cuba, which was excluded due to there political ideology during the 1960′s, has been a victim of U$ imposed isolation since there liberation in 1959 not becuase of any physical threat that they present but rather for the fact that the Cuban revolution has been an example in this hemisphere that it is possible to liberate yourself from imperialism and set up a system based on the needs of the people of the nation.

These recent attacks in the OAS by the US and Canada is a continuation of the U$ attempts to destroy the Cuban revolution. Through an illegal blockade, terrorist attacks carried out with U$ blessing from U$ soil and political isolation the U$ feels that by force of arms and economic attack they can crush a revolution that has produced such people as Heidi Santamaria, Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos and 11 million educated campasinos and workers willing to spill there blood in defense of the revolution.

Ironically both the U$ and Canada while lecturing Cuba about democracy and using this as the reason for excluding Cuba from the OAS have ignored the voice of almost every country in Latin America demanding that Cuba must participate, once again showing that the OAS is another political body that the U$ uses to impose its hegemony and control over the hemisphere.

It is funny that a prime minister who is in power even though most people of voting age did not vote for him, who maintained his power during minority rule by shutting down parliment and is now in the midst of a huge election fraud scandal feels he can talk to anyone about what democracy really means.

We are after all talking about Harper, who rules by decree, does whatever he wants and whose idea of engagement is billyclubs, teargas and mass arrests like we saw at the g20. Whose policies towards the indigenous people is to intensify the genocide and economic policys include the plunder of resourses and austerity measures for workers and poor people while spending over $45 000 for three days of watching baseball and whatelse in New York.

Harper, before you start lecturing others about how to run a country why dont you fix your own? Until then shut your mouth and stop being such a lapdog stoogie for the U$
