Justice For Sammy Killer Cops off Our Streets

30 Jul

Aug. 13th 1 pm 40 college st. Toronto

The Toronto Police Services Board is meeting Tuesday August 13th at 1:30pm. Join us as we mourn the death of Sammy Yatim, Toronto’s latest victim of police brutality, and fight for justice for all victims of police violence and murder.

The “special investigations unit” has shown a clear inability to police the police, leaving cops in Toronto with a sense that they can get away with murder, and leaving us with no hope for accountability from the authorities.

Our communities are stronger, and more resilient than racist, classist police, and together we can ensure justice and build a world without police violence

First off Julian it is very early in the investigation. That said you are correct in that the SIU are a paper tiger, routinely ignored by the police even during investigations. Oh by the way your friend Davin Charney has nailed one more local officer in small claims court for abusing his authority and throwing a citizen in jail overnight without justification. Our local cops and police board are looking more and more like a bunch of amateur monkeys chasing their tails. See the story in today’s K-W Record.

please……racist was the motivation for the police shooting sam? come on , why because the cops were white? what would be your logic if the police shooters were dark skinned? honestly I think what happened is so..wrong as are many other excessive over reactive heavy handed responses by the cops, but racist, I don’t think so. that’s not a fair evaluation. I was ready to attend this protest but not on the grounds that you are perpetuating. don’t forget whities get shot too. remember the poor lady in the middle of the road with only a kitchen knife in her hand. four goons in bullet proof vests shot her down and she was white and female. so let’s stick to the facts and focus on the crazy behaviour of cops and not paint it with a racial brush. good luck.
