British Consulate Occupied, info picket held demanding the release of the Craigavon Two

16 Jan

Last Wednesday members of the 32CSM International Department took over the British Consulate in Toronto demanding the release of the Craigavon Two. This was followed by an info picket at the Kitchener Farmers Market on Saturday where flyers were handed out demanding the same thing.

Both of these actions were successful as they highlighted the injustice facing these two Irish Republicans who are doing life sentences despite the fact that it is quite clear to anyone looking at the case that their only crime is the fact that they are Irish Republicans.

We will continue to highlight this case through info pickets and direct actions such as the occupation of the British consulate until they are free.Through sit ins, occupations and other such acts of economic disruption targetting the British State we aim to let them know that it will not be buisness as usual while these comrades are behind bars.

Alan Ryan Peoples Community Defense Brigade Calls For Immediate Release of Gary Donnelly

8 Jan

cc’d British Consulate Freestate embassy

The Alan Ryan Peoples Community Defense Brigade condemn the arrest of Irish Republican Gary Donnelly by freestate forces. It is quite clear that this arrest follows a pattern of harassment and intimidation of Irish Republicans by freestate forces which is political persecution.

Gary Donnelly has always stood with the poor and marginalized of Kitchener and his political guidance has played a key role in the proposal to solve the drug problem which is currently being discussed with the region. As well has always stood with the oppressed nationalities that make up what is called Canada, particularly with the colonized Indigenous peoples whose land we live on.

His current arrest is a result of his correct political view that Irish people have the right to determine their own destiny and the fact that it is the freestaters who arrested him shows that their loyalty lies with the british and the Anglo American imperialist alliance, not with the Irish people.

We demand that Gary Donnelly and all Irish Republican prisoners be released immediately.

Today Gary Donnelly, well known Irish Republican and friend of those fighting poverty and colonialism here in Kitchener, was arrested by free state police. This arrest is a clear case of Freestate harassment and collusion with the Brits. Call the Brits tell them to end the attacks on Irish Republicans, call the freeststors and demand he be freed now!!!

Republican Derry Councillor Gary Donnelly arrested in Donegal

Prominent Derry Republican and local Councillor Gary Donnelly has today been arrested by Freestate forces in Donegal. Gary was attending a commemoration marking the centenary of the Meenbanad Train Ambush.

It was widely known and publicised that Gary would be attending this event, the Freestate branch opportunistically used this knowledge to arrest him after the commemoration.

It is believed Gary is being questioned about the killing of the notorious tout Denis Donaldson. Donaldson was executed while hiding out in Donegal in April 2006, after being exposed as an informer for Mi5 and Special branch, in December the previous year.

Gary Donnelly was previously arrested and questioned in connection with the Donaldson Killing in September 2011, he was released without charge.

This fresh arrest is nothing short of harassment, no new evidence is being put forward to question Gary since his 2011 arrest.

Gary Donnelly should be released immediately
