Call and email the attorney general demanding political status and an end to political persecution

21 Jan

Given the fact that it has come to light that many people who were targetted for survelliance, infiltration and attack by the state around the g20 were done so for holding a “criminal ideology”, given that the organizations that were targetted were political organizations, and given that areests are still being made around people who are political for speaking about there experiance as victims of state attack, whose aims are to silence dissent, The Spot Collective is calling on all people to call or email the office of the Attorney general and demand political status for all g20 arrestees, as well as all other people in jail for political reasons and by doing so admit that Canada has political prisoners and act accordingly. Furthermore we are calling on people to demand that the Attorney General end the political persecution, incarceration, survelliance and criminalization of protest, ideology and dissent.

Doug: It sounds as if you’re a little confused. My understanding is that the very few people charged and convicted in regards to the G20 were not the same people trashing police cars and breaking windows ie. vandals. I still don’t understand how the police could corral (kettle) a thousand people, arrest them and then let them all go with almost no charges being laid. Those that have been charged and convicted were mainly for “conspiracy to incite”. The cops went undercover in Guelph and Kitchener BEFORE the G20 was underway and made a bunch of arrests of people who were allegedly conspiring to disrupt the G20. Again to the best of my knowledge none of the activists in Kitchener or Guelph were caught, arrested or convicted for vandalism or property destruction. In fact the Crown admitted in court that they could not tie the people doing the vandalism to those that were convicted of conspiracy or counselling vandalism. This was an incredibly weird set of police actions, charges and convictions. Meanwhile to the best of my knowledge not one single person has been charged and convicted for the actual physical damages done.

    Hi Doug,

It is very common place to have the “police infiltrators” be the actual instigators of and source of the ideas of expressing violence. After all you can’t very well lie to people for several years invading their privacy and denying their human rights without ensuring you concoct justification for you amoral and un-just invasions and denial of human rights.

When you are in the business of readying the privatisation of the punity system in Canada then you’ll certainly ensure you can justify amoral pretences of police activity.

This country has been run by elite bankers and media people since the days of George Brown and John A. Macdonald, perhaps it’s time it was run by the flesh blood humans that occupy her sacred ancient soils.

Perhaps becoming aware of instead of pulling the wool over your eyes is something you can do too Doug, and contribute to protecting rights, so that protest and ideology even if not shared by you is not alone permitted but encouraged by all flesh & blood humans who share this great land.

Then for once and for all Canada can truly take the role of setting an example as for the whole word, as a peaceful, sustainagile, participatory democratic Nation.
